IAS Coaching Classes / Batch For IAS 2015
IAS 2015 prelims will be held in August 2015. So, January is the perfect time to start for this year preparation because 7-8 months is the minimum preparation time. The batches for IAS 2015 begin from 27th January. The focus of preparation of these coaching classes will be to cover the depth and width of the material both from conceptual and analytical perspective.The batch strength varies from 40- 50 students and the daily duration of the batch is 2 and a half hours. It is scheduled to cover “The Hindu” Newspaper along with the module in question. There is major focus on daily object type test to assure retention of previous day classroom teaching.
I.A.S. is regarding as the toughest examination in country because of 2 major reasons.
1. There are 3 stages required to clear the examination.
2. Only 0.1% of the applicants can clear the examination.

STATE-I – PRELIMINARY
Preliminary is the first stage of I.A.S. Here 2 papers are conducted by UPSC.
i) GENERAL STUDIES
Also called as Paper I. 100 questions from different topics of !.A.S. are asked which checks the basic knowledge of the candidate. General studies for prelims consists of History, Geography, Economy, Polity & Science and Technology, Current Affairs of past 18 months are also asked in this module. Each question carries 2 marks and a negative 1/3rd.
Also called as Civil Services Aptitude test or G S paper II consists of basic Maths., qualitative aptitude, Reasoning ability, Reading comprehension and data interpretation skills. The examination is to check the basic aptitude of the candidate and has been a recent addition to UPSC mix. It has 80 questions in all varying 2.5 marks each and a total of 200 marks. Again it has 1/3rd negative marking. The most important aspect of I.A.S. prelims is getting right guidance for Civil Service prelims and studying correct books for I.A.S. prelims.
After clearing I.A.S. prelims examination students wrote I.A.S. mains. I.A.S. main is considered to be tougher as it checks the width as well as depth of students knowledge regarding the subject matter. Answer writing skill is the most important aspect of this paper. Mains exam has General Studies papers as well as an optional paper. Besides that there is also an essay paper and compulsory papers for qualifying paper.
The last stage of this exam is interview. It is also the make or break stage for the candidate. The candidate who clears the interview gets the chance to represent the prestigious nation as a “bureaucrat”.
PCS exam is conducted by Punjab Public Service commission to select candidates for the reputed posts like SDM, ETO, DSP etc. There is a separate exam for executive and judicial. However; people who clear executive have to take a test for physical fitness to qualify for DSP.
